SYNCstore™ STM Fecal Collection Tubes (SS4500)

Sample Storage Buffer/Sample Storage Buffer

The SYNCstore™ STM Fecal Collection Tubes are specifically designed for the quick preservation of nucleic acids from fresh stool samples. These tubes contain SYNCstore™ STM medium. To use, simply collect the stool into the tubes and gently mix until the stool is fully submerged in the medium. This SYNCstore™ STM effectively inhibits the growth of both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, as well as fungi, while also inactivating viruses, ensuring that the resulting non-infectious samples can be safely handled and transported. Moreover, the preservative eliminates the need forimmediate processing or freezing, allowing samples to be sent to centralized testing facilities at ambient temperatures.

SYNCstoreTM STM Fecal Collection Tubes Test Data

Nanopore sequencing

Fecal samples were preserved using SYNCstoreTM STM Fecal Collection Tubes and the Z brand Fecal Collection Kit, each stored for 7, 14, and 28 days. After nucleic acid purification from the preserved samples, bacterial composition analysis was performed using Nanopore sequencing technology. The results showed that fecal samples stored in SYNCstoreTM STM Fecal Collection Tubes for 7, 14, and 28 days exhibited highly similar microbial profiles (Figure 1). In the Principal Coordinate Analysis (PCoA) plot, samples preserved with SYNCstoreTM STM clustered closely together, indicating minimal variation in microbial composition under these storage conditions and demonstrating excellent stability (Figure 2). The performance of the Geneaid product was superior to that of the Z brand.

Additional Influenza A Virus Added to SYNCstoreTM STM Fecal Collection Tube, Stored at 25°C for 1, 7, and 14 Days
Influenza A virus was added to fecal sample storage in SYNCstoreTM STM Fecal Collection Tube and stored at 25°C for 1, 7, and 14 days. Influenza A virus RNA was purified from the preserver and subjected to RT-qPCR and RT-PCR analysis. The qPCR results showed that the Ct values for influenza A virus in the samples stored for 1, 7, and 14 days were nearly identical, indicating that the influenza A virus RNA remains stable for up to 14 days (Figure 3). RT-PCR results demonstrated that after 14 days of storage, all gene fragments of the influenza A virus could still be successfully amplified, suggesting that the virus RNA maintains high integrity even after 14 days of storage in the Fecal Collection Tube (Figure 4).
